I wanted to take the opportunity to run a few idea’s with you guys and see how you feel about them.
1. Alpha/Bravo/Charlie Team
The Hollywood Clan is growing in numbers. And I can only see that trend growing as we move forward. However I believe it is important to consistently progress with one set of teammates. Playing Ground War, while a nice distraction, really does very little for us as far as helping us progress in our skills/tactics and abilities to win clan matches. I don’t want any member of the clan to feel left out when we are playing Domination, Sabotage, or any other 6 on 6 game. On any given afternoon/evening we can have 10+ members online. So my suggestion for structure is this
2 or 3 teams that have a team leader that schedules squad practices/matches for their team
Example
Hollywood Alpha
Hollywood Bravo
Hollywood Charlie (When needed)
We can seperate the teams out in many ways including having a type of in-clan elimination battle to determine the six players best suited to field our “A” team. Several factors would be involved in scoring including points/kills/deaths/assists etc.
Example A
Hollywood Alpha Hollywood Bravo
- Best Six -Next Six
Another idea would be to split up the teams as evenly as possible and rely on the team leaders to help their squad members become better.
Example B
Hollywood Alpha Hollywood Bravo
#1 ranked #2 ranked
#3 ranked #4 ranked
#5 ranked #6 ranked
#7 ranked #8 ranked and so on
There are many ways to approach our clan’s growth and organization. What do you guys think, and what are some suggestions you have to help us take over the gaming world?
that works for me…i think example b would probably be better just so that talent is lop sided. now just to figure out whose ranked what…
I think the only way to fairly rank the team members is to have a tournament of sorts within the clan and score everyones performances. I can create a spreadsheet and we can use all Hollywood Clan members to run these skirmishes. We will keep track of all members’ score during the trials and the members will be ranked based on their performances. I think at least as far as having solid squad member’s the B option would be the best for helping all of the team members.
Another option would simply be having 2 team captains and basically picking teams…
Again, just some idea’s. Let me know what you guys think.
There is no way that I would go for a “Clan Tourney” to decide who is ranked higher than someone else. Everyone is in this crew for a reason. I personally wouldn’t have a problem running with anyone of the crew at any given time. Yeah some people play better than others, but who really cares. How will people get better if they don’t run with some of “Tha Killas”? All a “ranking system” would do is cause problems within. Having JDFC and RAVEN each running a different squad would be the best bet I think (since they seem to be a whole lot more organized than most). As far as who is on each squad, well, it really wouldn’t matter at first. After playing for a while we’ll get a good idea of who plays best with who, which will in turn make “choosing sides” a whole lot easier. I’m just trying to have fun and play and addicting video game with ALL of my friends, not just some.
As for taking over the gaming world that sounds fun and all, but it sounds like the only focus so far is on Call of Duty 4. What about other games? We MUST expand and conquor other games. Check out my post on my blog: The Birth of Nameless
I agree that Ground War isn’t the best way to train. If Training is what we are really wanting to get serious about, then its private matches all the way. Not to pit each other against winning first string, but to practice tactics and learn from each other. As for the casual nightly gaming, I say team tactical all the way. We make teams of 3, that can group up to form teams of 6. So that when we run clan matches, we have two “team leaders” on the field. As to how we do that, idk, I just shot people in the face.
I’d like to add that we also need to have a phone number list… last clan match that I waited for was a bust…
I agree that a ranking system would put off many of the team members and that is not what I am interested in doing. But I do think that training together and against each other would allow us to help each other get better at the basics and advanced tactics. We can set up a day of the week to get together and review different strategies. (Space controlling, effective claymore placement, sniping, falling prone, etc.) I would love to spend some quality time working on my weaknesses. I can only speak for myself, but I think that this would be welcomed by most if not all of our team members and we could really become a force (all of Hollywood) and dominate COD4.
As far as Jimmy’s post, I completely agree. As a group of gamers I believe that we are skilled enough to take on any XBL game and represent. I already have R6Vegas and would definitely be willing to pop that back in and play. As well as Ghost Recon 1 and 2.
My primary focus though will be on Call of Duty 4 simply because as I see it , it is the most complete game. Any thoughts on when everyone would be willing to have a clan practice/meeting night? (This is no different than joining a softball league or something similar.) We can start off with a private match, do some tactical review and then break off into teams of 3 or 6. For myself I know that Monday nights, and Wednesday nights would be best. Also every other weekend. I 2nd the phone list idea. Can anyone update the roster with the newest Clan members? I donr know who we’re missing.
I attempted to play Vegas 1 last night. GARBAGE. I played some Halo 3 last night……A little better, but still boring. I played COD4 at lunch today, and was rusty and upset. Lesson learned: Don’t take a break from the best game out there. I am also down to learn some Ghost Recon. Oh yeah I got a new post on my blog giving some feedback on my playing other games adventure. Pretty funny. Also all are welcome to witness JimmyJayCEO completely destroy Raven in a cage match tonight. On my blog too.
